Introduction

Are you passionate about sharing your skills and guiding others? The Qualifi Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formerly known as PTLLS) is an introductory teaching qualification designed for aspiring educators who wish to deliver training in the post-16 sector or have recently taken on a teaching or training role. This course offers foundational teaching principles and practical guidance to begin a career in adult or vocational education.

Who Should Enrol?

This qualification is ideal for:

• Individuals exploring a teaching or training role in further education

• Trainers and assessors delivering vocational skills

• Beauty professionals seeking to become certified trainers within the aesthetics or wellness industry

It is suitable for both newcomers and those already teaching but without a formal teaching qualification.

Units of Study

To achieve the full award, learners will complete one mandatory unit and select units from the optional sections A and B.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, learners will be able to:

• Identify the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer within the education and training sector

• Support and facilitate learning in both individual and group settings

• Understand different methods and principles of learner assessment

• Evaluate assessment techniques for fairness, consistency, and effectiveness

Entry Requirements

This course is designed for learners aged 19 and over. Although no prior qualifications are required, applicants must:

• Be proficient in written and spoken English

• Have a genuine interest in teaching or training

• Be able to demonstrate the capability to manage course content and assignments

• Attend an informal interview or consultation to assess suitability

Learners with significant industry experience but no formal qualifications may also be accepted, provided they can demonstrate appropriate communication and organisational skills.
